About the Centre

Founded in 2016, the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking (the Centre) is a national charity dedicated to ending all forms of human trafficking in Canada. To achieve this, the Centre mobilizes system change by collaborating with diverse partners, including survivor leaders, governments, private-sector businesses, front-line service providers, police, and community advocates, to advance best practices and eliminate duplicate efforts across Canada. We do this through education and awareness, policy development and advocacy, research and data collection, and knowledge transfer and convening.

On May 29, 2019, the Centre launched The Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline, providing a confidential and multilingual service operating 24/7 to connect victims and survivors across Canada with social services and law enforcement if they so choose. As the operator of the hotline, the Centre has a unique perspective on Canada’s existing anti-trafficking safety net and the needs of those most impacted by this crime.

The Role:

The partnership specialist team strengthens Canada’s network of support for victims and survivors of human trafficking by building and sustaining relationships with over 1,000 social service providers working across complex, often fragmented systems of care.

Through regular engagement, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, the team stays informed about changes that may affect service availability and access. The team’s expertise also contributes to the Centre’s projects, research, policy development, consultations, campaigns and external communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Partnership Development and Referral Directory
  • Build and sustain relationships with service providers to strengthen Canada’s referral network for victims and survivors of human trafficking.
  • Maintain accurate, current information about services, eligibility requirements and referral pathways in the national directory.
  • Identify gaps in local services and emergency response and engage partners that can help address them.
Training, Education and Outreach
  • Identify opportunities for the Centre to deliver awareness and training sessions for law enforcement, service providers, community groups, private-sector organizations and the public.
  • Advance the Centre’s visibility, advocacy and information sharing through targeted outreach, stakeholder engagement and the quarterly stakeholder newsletter.
Stakeholder Convening and Knowledge Exchange
  • Participate and support anti-trafficking network meetings, consultations and sector forums to foster collaboration and shared learning.
  • Gather and share information on human trafficking trends, systemic gaps, promising practices, emerging models of care, events and disruption activities.
Strategic Guidance and Organizational Learning
  • Identify strategic opportunities and advise the Centre on sector priorities related to engagement, advocacy, education, prevention, programming and policy.
  • Apply insights from the field and key stakeholders to the Centre’s outreach, awareness, research and data collection using a trauma-informed, person-centred lens.
  • Strengthen organizational learning by sharing resources and creating internal training opportunities on the complexities and root causes of human trafficking.
  • Collaborate periodically with the Manager of Marketing and Communications to translate sector knowledge into accurate, informative blog posts, webinars and social media content.

Education and Experience:

  • Professional fluency in both French and English.
  • A diploma or degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience building collaborative working relationships across organizations and sectors.
  • Understanding of human trafficking and trauma-informed, person-centred approaches to care.
  • Knowledge of Canada’s social services landscape and referral pathways.
  • Proficiency with digital tools, databases and accurate record-keeping.
  • Experience facilitating discussions and consultations with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Personal Attributes and Competencies:

  • Ability to build trusted, respectful relationships with diverse people and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and identify risks that may affect the Centre, its partners or its reputation.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and translate information into practical insights and recommendations.
  • Commitment to equity, anti-oppression and trauma-informed, person-centred practice.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about emerging issues and practices.
