Journalists and media professionals: We have produced a media reference guide to support accurate, ethical and trauma-informed reporting on human trafficking in Canada. It includes practical guidance on language, imagery and framing — covering everything from word choice to stock photos, b-roll and common reporting pitfalls — while centring the dignity and safety of those affected.
Using our materials
We encourage you to help raise awareness about human trafficking by sharing our social media content, displaying the hotline number (1-833-900-1010), or downloading and posting materials from the hotline’s website. No permission is needed to use these public awareness resources.
That said, the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking retains copyright over all materials shared on our websites and social media platforms. While you’re welcome to promote the hotline, using the Centre’s or hotline’s logos in print or digital materials requires prior written permission. Unauthorized use of our names or logos is a violation of the Copyright Act.
